Origin Live Resolution (GBP 2300.00 exc arm and cartridge)

The Resolution is currently O.L.'s vinyl playing statement. Rather than us wittering on about it, here follows a quote from O.L.'s brochure: << Recreating an original musical performance is dependent on capturing many factors. High priorities are dynamics, transient speed, definition, and tonal accuracy. The ability of the Resolution to incorporate all these factors separates this turntable from all other decks. Powerful dynamics, superb transparency, and tangible sound staging will keep you listening to your record collection for many years to come >> Err, yes, couldn't agree more.
Luckily, the deck matches up to the hyperbole. Traditional OL virtues of speed, lack of overhang, and realistic imaging are all there. This is a very complex deck (you can't see the intricate subchassis from the picture - although the complex acrylic platter is evident), yet for the end user it's simple to use and doesn't require regular attention. The best way to describe it is carrying on from, and dramatically improving on, the top Pink Triangle decks of a few years back (when PT still made turntables!). So Les tells me, anyway.
The example above is shown fitted with the Illustrious arm (which will set you back a further GBP 1770.00). Incidentally, there is also a more traditional version called the Resolution Classic, with a nice wooden plinth and a dust cover, for the same price. Can't vouch that the performance will quite match the stellar levels of the standard model, though.
