Bush SRP 30C (GBP Priceless)

Featuring a Garrard 4SP motor unit, this superb combination is portable and self contained. Although a stereo cartridge is fitted, the complete unit itself is mono, featuring a single-ended valve amplifier using genuine Mullard valves, and an output of approx 3-4 Watts which feeds into the front mounted full range paper coned loudspeaker.

The turntable is semi-automatic and has 4 speeds including 78rpm. The record support is a tasteful olive green rubber mat, and the arm is capable of tracking at anything over 20g downforce.

Separate treble and bass controls are provided, as is a tape recorder feed, and a stereo output socket suitable for connecting to another amplifier and loudspeaker - a suitable unit is available from Bush for the purpose.

Mains voltage is fully adjustable, making it suitable for the international traveller who just can't do without their hi-fi when out and about.

Sound quality is ahem pretty decent for the genre - well worth considering if space is at a premium.
